Law: Dubious Abuse of Power Attorney (1 CME Point)
Speaker

Federal Chancellary
AGENDA
In Germany, around 6 million plus x people have comprehensively authorized another person in the event of their own legal incapacity to act. Such a power of attorney is also common in other European countries and in the USA. Unlike there, the law in Germany does not adequately protect against the widespread misuse of powers of attorney. In the meantime, the police have already registered organized crime, including the killing of (senile) demented principals. The legislature has not yet solved the problem, among other things, because there is a lack of the necessary interaction between psychiatric and legal research.
LEARNING OUTCOME
• present a legal problem of the worldwide aging society
• demonstrate a connection between scientific research and the effectiveness of law
• further open the interdisciplinary discourse
